HILTON SOCIAL HILTON SAVED MY STAY
There are three things all people love to do: Go on vacation, complain, and be on the internet.
So we found a few people who lamented about their real nightmare vacations online, rescued them from their horrific stays, and made cheeky reenactments out of their experiences. Our lo-fi approach targeted Zillennials directly with creator-inspired techniques like handheld film compositions, in-camera transitions, and a tone the youths would approve.
To lean into the “surrealcore” aesthetic on social, we used a Japanese Kabuki-inspired (black box theater) setup to frame each story retelling as a bad memory. We got crafty with our budget, opting for folks in morph suits and handmade props and set pieces to amplify the physical comedy in the nightmare scenarios.
